What is a Micro Ring Hair Extension

A micro ring hair extension (aka a bead hair extension) is used to attach hair extensions using micro rings. A micro ring is the ring which is used to attach the extension to the natural hair. The rings generally are made of aluminum but some are made of silicone or plastic.

You can buy the micro rings separately or they can be purchased already attached to the hair. The second method makes it a lot easier to add the extension and they’re the preferred product. If you buy the rings separately, you’ll need to purchase a threader to pull the natural hair through the ring.

Micro rings come in a range of sizes. You can even add two rings instead of one. In general, the larger the ring, the better the extension will hold. However, the larger the ring, the more visible the attachment is (undesirable). Usually trial and error of different ring sizes is the best way to find the perfect size.
