Removing hair extension glue
Hair extensions glue is used to bond additional strands to existing hair. Heat is often used to melt the glue. The extension tips are sometimes pre-treated to avoid hassle during the attachment process.
Some fear hair extensions glue will ruin their hair or be difficult to remove when the extensions get taken out. This is particularly a concern with home-kits since no specialist is on hand to help. Although solvents are suggested to remove the adhesive, this can be harmful to the hair. Solvents also have dangerous fumes.
Instead of inhaling solvent fumes, use a simple grease-based product. Rubbing the solution into the glue will loosen it from the hair. Once the majority of the glue is gone, shampoo hair with cool water. Using warmer water will re-bond any remaining bits of glue. To avoid this, it may take a few more cool-temperature washes until the glue is completely gone.
