Visiting a hair extension specialist can be a little daunting at first, but totally worth the time. Home kits are available, but seeing a professional is usually much more effective. This is less of a hassle than trying to add hair convincingly, with your own (inexperienced) hands.
So how can you tell an inexperienced stylist from a hair extension specialist? For starters, proper tools are a must. Extensions should not be made from synthetic hair unless the client specifically asks for this type. Synthetic strands are made from a type of plastic. This means that they will never look realistic because their texture is different from real human hair. They have a plasticky appearance, and are much shinier than non-artificial hair.
A specialist in hair extensions should be able to give you advice about which type would work best for you.
