Hair Claw
The hair claw is synonymous with hair clamp. In the most basic form, it is two hands joined together at the base with a retainer pin. The hands are then spring loaded to stay closed. When the hands are squeezed at the base, the claw opens to allow hair to be put inside the fingers. When pressure is released, the hair claw then closes over the hair with enough pressure to hold the hair in place and not to slide during normal movement.
Hair claws are made from various materials, metal and plastic being the most common. Plastic hair claws vary in color from clear to black, with natural colors of gold, brown, and burgundy being most common. Metal claws tend to be gold or silver in finish, although other colors are sometimes available. Both metal and plastic versions are often adorned with rhinestone, crystals, Peridot, Topaz, and other semi-precious stones.
